Often we come into programs and realize that clients are hanging onto strategies and practices that are comfortable and similar to those utilized by key competitors. These are companies that are very adept in most aspects of their operations and management. However, they are holding onto promotion and lead-generation practices that are inefficient and have seen better days.
There is a crowd mentality that drives them, and they do it this way because this is the way that “everyone in the industry does it”. They continue to use what I see as “broken models” despite opportunities to do things better, realize greater return on investment, and be more cost-effective.
Examining what is working in your marketing approach is fundamental to optimizing results, learning, and improvement. Empowering team members willing to think critically and creatively is another key step as you work to understand which strategies and tools are working and which are not.
Further with AI, the way we all do business is changing before our very eyes. Is it not time to throw away complacency and practices that, while comfortable, are not the best answer? The consequences of not doing so could be game-changing as your competitors wise up and rise to the opportunity.
Speeding up and keeping pace are terms I used to consider specific to sports and perhaps a few major businesses. In the age of AI, these feel like terms that apply to all of us.
AI is changing the way business is done at a pace never seen before. From research, planning, and creation of marketing materials and presentations to customer service and data analysis, AI is revolutionizing every aspect of how we do business. The question isn’t whether AI will transform your industry—it’s whether you’ll be leading that transformation or scrambling to catch up.
The companies that will thrive are those willing to challenge their assumptions, abandon outdated methods, and embrace new approaches that deliver better results. While others cling to “the way we’ve always done it,” forward-thinking organizations are already reaping the benefits of more effective, efficient, and measurable marketing strategies.
The choice is yours: continue following the crowd down a path of diminishing returns, or break free from broken models and position your company at the forefront of innovation. In an AI-driven world, the cost of standing still has never been higher—and the rewards for bold action have never been greater.
