Smarter Faster Better

Smarter Faster Better is the title of a 2016 book written by Charles Duhigg, a former New York Times writer known by many for his original work, The Power of Habit. Both of these books are great reads that can be readily applied to making our business endeavors and personal lives more productive.

Think of how important speed and immediate response are to our everyday lives. We expect fast answers to the questions and appeals we raise and when we do not receive a quick response we tend to move on.

Time is a resource that we realize is limited. Astute leaders get this and look to extract tasks, processes, and people who do not align with their priorities and goals. Accomplishing things faster and more efficiently saves customers time and money and can be a source of differentiation and value.

A case can be made that the ongoing success and growth of your business depends upon your willingness to continue to improve and get better, or otherwise be replaced by a competitor.

These principles apply to businesses large and small.

Even industry titans are realizing this dynamic, as they too are vulnerable to competition, changing technologies and media. Nike, ESPN, and Starbucks are prime examples of brands that once seemed invincible that are now losing marketing share and struggling to grow.

Are your teams suited to a world of Smarter Faster Better?

Any business is only as good as the employees you have attracted and nurtured. Have you created a culture of learning, growth, and accountability? Are you building the kind of team that can deliver in a world of ongoing change and increased competition?

The principles of ongoing learning, continuing improvement, and agile and accelerated solutions underpin our approach at Attuned. The challenges of helping our clients succeed and grow their businesses, brands, and teams fuel and compel us.

Getting back to the book title I referenced, Smarter Faster Better: The Secrets of Being Productive in Life and Business. This book is well worth your time to read or to listen to if you’re into audiobooks. Duhigg is an excellent writer and storyteller and provides a variety of examples of businesses, organizations, and individuals achieving success and higher productivity while backing it.
