Griffith Real Estate and Toll Brothers Launch Second Phase of Landmark Community

A little more than two years ago the first shovels were turned at Griffith Lakes, a planned community located off W.T. Harris Boulevard, located close to Uptown and University City.  Much has happened since the initial groundbreaking, as Griffith Lakes has captured the attention of homebuyers, real estate agents, and community leaders. When you dig into the story behind its success and its original legacy, it is no surprise that the community is attracting the attention that it has.

Here are a few of the key facts behind this development by accomplished luxury home builder, Toll Brothers and Griffith Real Estate Services. Griffith Real Estate Services is an affiliate of EC Griffith Company, known for its work developing Eastover, much of Myers Park, as well as Wesley Heights and Elizabeth. Company founder EC Griffith acquired the Griffith Lakes property in the early 1950s and built its signature lakes after his sons suggested that he not begin farming at this late stage in his career. Instead, EC hunted the property and enjoyed its landscape which remained untouched waiting for the appropriate time for its development.

In 2019, Griffith and Toll Brothers, America’s leading luxury home builder, reached a joint development agreement and began work on the project. Toll commenced its initial sales efforts in 2022, pre-selling townhomes from a neighboring shopping center. Toll’s first townhome and single-family models opened later that spring and summer. To say that the response has been positive is an understatement. Over the past 16 months, more than 180 homebuyers have decided to call this community home by purchasing homes at Griffith Lakes. In response to the demand, Toll has expanded the number of home collections offered and launched its second phase of homes and homesites.

In addition to the homes, there are plans for a grocery store, shops, offices, and apartments. A Transit-Oriented Development along the proposed Red Line commuter rail line is planned as well, conditioned upon final approvals and funding for the rail line.
